Hinduism

Major part of the Gujarat population is Hindu. Gujarat’s most population follows customs and beliefs of Hinduism. From the ancient times, the great religious Vedic Dharma was famous and the other remain ritual things founded in the Indus Valley, from there they started believing and worshipping the Goddesses and began to follow Shiva and Sun. there are many beautiful Hindu temples are established; Somnath temple- 12 jyotirlingas of God Shankar, Dwarkadhish Temple, the very old Sun temple which is situated at Modhera. These are some of Hindu pilgrims, which attract the tourists of entire world.

Islam

For the business purpose and trade, there was only way through which other country’s people can come to the Gujarat that was through sea way. Many people of Arabic and Iran countries began coming to state Gujarat. As trade business increased, the Islamic culture established in Gujarat. The mosques in Gujarat, was built during the Mughal emperor. Mosques such as Bharuch’s Jama Masjid, Dholka’s Alif Khan Mosque, Sidi Saiyyed Mosque and Ahmedabad’s Jami Masjid.

Jainism

This religion is largely followed by the Gujarat’s population from many years. Jainism religion’s most old temple is Shankheshwar Parshwanath; it is located in the Gujarat’s north side. While the Solanki period, the famous Taranga temples was constructed; this temple is maintained very carefully as compare to the Mt. Abu temple, Ahatrunjay, Girnar. In Gujarat, there is a ancient times pilgrimage of God Palitana of Jain religion. It was built in the fifth century and it is a housing temple.

Buddhism

In the period of Jainism, the religion Buddhism also got famous. There are also Buddhist temples and they are still in the good condition. In state Gujarat, near the Junagadh there is an Ashokan Buddhist’s carved structure, around in the third century. It is finely carved in the rock.
