Southern Wings
The outstanding beauty of the Arunachal Himalayas can be seen from the plains. These plains include peaks as Kangto. Kangto is famous is unconquered and amongst the highest peak in the entire world. The dense forest and the unknown routes that reveals during the path of rivers offers best adventure to mountaineers.
The Kameng, Siang, Tirap, Subansiri and the Lohit, the five main tributaries of Brahmaputra River mark their origin from this range. The geographical concealment of Arunachal Pradesh has developed the area as well as people residing here with the self contained factor. Arunachal Pradesh is sparsely population. However, most of the land is covered with the forest.
Sela Pass
Kameng located on the western land of Arunachal Pradesh drains the basin of Gorichen and of Kangto Peaks. Bhalukpong which is situated at the distance of 52 -km from Tezpur spreads out to Bomdila through Tipi orchidariurm. It crosses the crest of the Se La Pass at height of 14,000 reaching the Mahayana sect Buddhist monastery at Tawang. These are the parts from the Bailey trail which is a trade route from Tiber over Tukung that was used by the British Surveyors in 1913.
Tourists Routes
There are only few routes available for the visitors in the Arunachal Pradesh. One of them is Itanagar route that gets connected to Ziro at the distance of 150-km away in the center of the state at an altitude of around 1,754m in splendid Apatani plateau. This trail spreads along east and north, approaching Subansiri River at Daporijo. Here, one can meet the splendid harbinger of Mansarovar, the Siang which lies within its white water section.
Day junket include state museum, Ganga Lake and elephant ride to the magnificent camp on the nearby River Dikrong.
Margherita Railhead
The Margherita Railhead is famous for its Namdapha National Park which is situated at the Tirap district in the eastern boundary of the state. This place is nearby the Burmese border. The exit point of this place is the railhead at Margherita. You can reach this place just at a distance of 38-km from the National Highway from Tinsukia. Coaches move on with the entry in the Park along with Miao. The elevation in this plain varies from 200 – 4,500m. This park is most famous for the large wild cats found here namely Leopard, Snow Leopard, Clouded Leopard and Tiger.
Dense Forest
A good road makes its way using Pasighat as the base from where the Brahmaputra has its entry through the thick forest. Settlements done at Belong, Pangin and Yembung lead to Siamang Bridge at the distance of 110 km from the base. This route is one of the best for the photography and the photographers favorites. This place is also famous as the splendid tracts for Mahseer angling. From Pasighat ferry, there is an access via the 415-km from drive Tezpur parallel to the north of Brahmaputra.
Entry Permits
To visit any part of Arunachal Pradesh needs a permission from Arunachal Government office at Delhi or from Itanagar. Foreigners require the permission prior 10 days to visit parts of Arunachal Pradesh. The group size, entry permit and an advance application marks a good impression to visit the parks, mountains and other place in the Arunachal Pradesh. These can be entered with any foreigner’s registration offices, Indian Mission Overseas, the home commissioners of the state in Itanagar or its resident commissioner in Delhi.
Best Period for Trekking
October to February is the best period for the trekking in Arunachal Pradesh. Only few destinations in the world can match up for the fun, wild experience and the memorable adventure that is undertaken in Arunachal Pradesh.
