Balpakram National Park

The Balpakram National Park is a popular tourist destination in the state of Meghalaya, which is situated at the extreme of southern part of Garo Hills. This park is nestled at a short distance of 90 kilometers from the Baghmara, which is the headquarters of the Garo Hills. It is located at a convenient place, where you can also easily have access to the international boundaries of the Bangladesh state. The national park was instituted in the year 1987, after it was declared as the famous national park of Meghalaya. This place is enclosed with natural beauty; therefore it offers a scenic beauty for the visitors since it lies at a height of over 3,000 feet. The park covers an area of around two hundred square kilometer which comprises of various attractions for tourist. It is famous for its dense forest and the wildlife that are preserved in this place.
