Tonk was the only princely state in Rajasthan which was ruled by Muslims. There is a research institute in Tonk; known has Arabic Institute Tonk which has Arabic, Urdu and Persian manuscripts and atypical collection of literature from Iran, India & Arabian countries. Manuscripts, handwritten books and unpublished, largely poetry by Muslim poets, additionally Mughal literature can also be seen by the tourist in the collection of the museum.

The Famous Art Gallery Institute was started in 2002 which displayed artistic presentations of different classes, like the Namda calligraphy, collection of postage stamps, art of charming photographs, which is an eye-catching view for the visitors. Calligraphy on pulse, rice, human hair and sesame along with the lines written inside the transparent bottles has made Arabic Institute Tonk a center of tourist attraction.

The City Palace Museum

Placed on Pichola Lake, the City Palace Museum is the main landmark and most prominent Palace in Rajasthan. Maharaja Udai Singh who was the founder of the city, started with the construction of the palace. This museum bears noteworthy accumulations of the primitive sculptures, antiques and illuminations of the earlier era. The museum settled in the City Palace is also being named as the Pratap Museum. This museum was built in 1890 AD being the earliest depositary of the area.

The entranceway of the City Palace Museum is called as Ganesh Deori that is the door of Lord Ganesha. This museum is also called as the Lok Sanskriti Sangrahalaya; this is placed at the banks of Lake Gadsisar in the Mehar Bagh Garden. The local connoisseur, N.K. Sharma in 1984 built this museum.

The Folklore Museum is well coordinated with six divisions and as accumulations of the photographs, jewellery and hairstyles, costumes, paintings, horse and camel decorations, and ornamental arches, rural life articles of usefulness, there are also items which connect the culture lifestyles with the folks.

Government Museum of Bharatpur is acquainted with rich accumulations of the Archeology from the nearby places from the state of Bharatpur. This museum was placed in the centre of the well known Fort, Lohagarh. Kachahari Kalan was the vast palatial building for the rulers, got commuted in 1944 AD to a museum. In the later stage the building of Kamra Khas, which means personal chamber on the first floor was also added up in the museum.

Mount Abu is the only hill station in Rajasthan and hence is the main point of all the activities of culture and tradition, this is going on since the earlier times. In the 13th century, the Parmars had this place as their working capital. After some period this place was controlled by the Chauhans.

The Government Museum of Mount Abu was established to maintain the archeological wealth, in 1962 in the preface of the Raj Bhawan. The museum is divided into various divisions, in which the first division is decorated with a panorama showing the local standard of living, including the exhibition of the gallery of musical instruments, weapons, ornaments used by the womens like guthma toda, kanski berla, barly, gaga wala thoomar, damani and many other types of garments and earrings which belonged to the people living on the hills.

The second division of the Government Museum of Mount Abu is of the miniature paintings that had a base of the lain images from Sirohi, Raginis-raga, medium shields, and carvings on wood, ‘Topdi’ which is a small cannon. The noteworthy accumulations of the museum includes the statues of Nartakis or Devdasi, the dancer from 6th century to 12th century AD, these were discovered during the excavation of the old town Chandravati, at a distance of 7 kms from Mount Abu. The museum also bears the epitome of the Chakrabahu Shiva having khadag and Trishul in both the hands, and on one side in the image are the dancing girls and Nandi on the other side.

Here you can also have a look over the sculpture of the Vish Kanya that is the snake goddesses, whose height is 3 feet. In the sculpture it is shown as the goddesses is breast-feeding a snake. The aggregation of the sculptures is 404 in numbers. The figures are well accomplished with the attitude that it looks real and strong impression. The collections have the Surya that was found in the 8th century AD from the excavations done in Achalgarh, the Shiva, discovered in the 10th century AD that was found in Temple of Dilwara, the Laxmi and the Chanvar Vahini that was detected in 12th century AD and 8th century AD from Chandravati and Chamunda respectively. The Government Museum of Mount Abu bears a separate gallery of sculptures from the excavations collected from the nearby regions.

Alwar Government Museum is situated in the Old City Palace, which has exceptional collections of ivory and lacquered work, Bidri work, pottery and miniature paintings. Alwar Government Museum has three major sections, the first section comprises of archaeological finds, mainly the sculptures and inscriptions from Alwar. The presentation of the items by the ruler from the state admits rode skins of wild animals like leopard, lion and tiger shot by the rulers at the time of their foreign and local excursions.

Archaeological Museum at Ahar Udaipur has a varied collection of findings from excavations at the mound of Dhulkot. It has a township of about 4,000 year. The major displays in the museums are seals from the 1st century, skin rubber, animal figures, balls, stone weights and grain pots. Also some splendid Jain and Hindu coins are displayed in one of the gallery, the most prominent being the metallic image of Jain Tirthankara.

Dungarpur Museum was constructed recently in 1988 and was allowed to be visited by the public. The sculpture gallery of the museum focuses on the period of the Vagad Pradesh which was spread over the regions of Dungarpur, Tehsil Kherwara, and Banswara in the Udaipur district.

The specimens that are prominent are the Vinadhar Shiva in black colored stone which were excavated in 6th to 7th Century AD. In 16th to 17th century Mahishasura-Mardini was discovered. There is also a female figure, Kumari which was discovered from the Aamjhara in the 6th to 7th century, a single stone piece that was found in 11th to 12th century was Navagraha last but not the least is the Gajlaxmi a mind blowing epitome founded in 17th to 18th century, all this are the part of the Dungarpur Museum.

The Government Museum of Jaisalmer was established in the year 1984. This museum is placed near the Moomal Hotel on Police Line Road.

Virat Nagar Museum in was situated in the capital, Matsayadesh in Virat Nagar. The citations of Matsayadesh have a note in the epics of India – the Mahabharat. Acharya Ram Charan Sharma in 1960, established and created the Museum Indology, this has a collection of Tantra and folk art. This museum is divided into 18 different divisions which are the archives and manuscripts, Indian textile designs, thematic folk art of India, glass and pottery items, gems, fossils and minerals etc.

Amer Archeology Museum is located in Amers Dil Aaram Bagh of Jaipur and was built in 1949. Before this the material from Rairth, Nagar, Bairat, Sambhar etc. and the epigraphs and sculptures collected from different sites in the Jaipur State were stored at Vidyadhar Gardens in Purana Ghat . The whole collection was shifted to Dil-e-Aaram Garden in 1992.

Amer Archeology Museum has three sections: firstly the Archaeology section displayed the material found from the excavations at Nagar, Sambhar, Bansi, Pamvar, Rairth and Bairat. Second is the sculpture section, third is the Epigraphy section where there are 2 ‘Yupa Pillars’ that is the sacrificial posts.

Birla Museum of Science and Technology is located at Pilani Rajasthan in the campus of Vidya Vihar and constructed in 1954. Government Central Museum, being the older museums in the state, is situated in the heart of the Ram Niwas Bagh. Established is the year 1876, the building structure was contrived by Colonel Sir Swinton Jacob.  In 1986 AD it was allowed for the people to have a look in the museum.
