The glacier is twenty-two kilometres long and nearly one kilometre thick. Plan Your Visit to Jungfraujoch as you take a cable car to Piz Gloria. Piz Gloria is a revolving restaurant which is perched at an elevation of 2,970 metres on the highest summit of Schilthorn near Murren in Bernese Oberland. The restaurant and the cable car station were designed by architect Konrad Wolf. Due to difficult weather and topographic location, most parts were pre-made as the round upper floor is made of aluminium-covered wooden panels. The roof earlier was made of only aluminium but now has been coated. The rotating mechanism rotates the upper floor for nearly an hour giving the guests a panoramic view of the vistas and having a capacity of four hundred diners. The name of the restaurant originated in Ian Fleming’s James Bond novel On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
